Put Your FORGE Spreader to Bed

How to store your BOSS FORGE stainless steel spreader?

As the temperature increases across the country, it is safe to say you won’t be needing your spreader or salter anytime soon. Follow these simple steps when putting your BOSS FORGE spreader to bed.

  1. 1. Unload the spreader. Position the spreader in the area where you want to deposit the material.

Unplug the spinner harness from the main wire harness. Remove the left latch and cotter pin from the spinner assembly.

Connect the spinner harness to the main wire harness.

  1. 2. Remove the spreader from the truck using the lift/tie-down points.

  2. 3. Wash and rinse the entire unit with water only.

  3. 4. Clean and grease all of the bearings with a No. 2 lithium grease.

  4. 5. Clean and grease the pintle chain (for pintle-chain models).

  5. 6. Clean all exposed connectors and apply dielectric grease to them.

  6. 7. Remove the controller from the truck and store it in a clean, dry place.

  7. These simple steps will help ensure your equipment is taken care of and in good condition for next season.
